There are many organizations that are complementary to the Redwood. They provide vital links for women and children facing a bewildering new landscape. And they offer insight to those who simply want to learn more about the remarkable work being done in their communities.

Canadian Health Network
A central depository of information on violence prevention. Resources on child abuse and sexual assault. Links to agencies that produced the information.
Springtide Resources
Information for abused women, professionals, friends, and family on abuse of all types.
Shelter Net
Provides links to a shelter or helpline in your area.
National Clearinghouse on Family Violence
A national resource centre for all Canadians seeking information about violence within the family and looking for new resources being used to address it. This site's main function is to collect and disseminate information about family violence.
The United Way of Greater Toronto
An incorporated non-profit charity focused on improving the long-term health of our community via 200 social service agencies, including The Redwood.
Metro Action Committee on Public Violence Against Women and Children (METRAC)
Supplies information on their organization, the numerous programs METRAC oversees in the Metro Toronto area, plus it give access to a database of over 4,000 documents on violence against women and children, METRAC's own publications and a small collection of links.
The White Ribbon Campaign
The largest effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women. An educational organization to encourage reflection and discussion that leads to personal and collective action among men.
Assaulted Women's Helpline
A 24-hour telephone crisis line for women in the province of Ontario. The Helpline is also for friends and family members of abused women, service providers and other professionals in contact with abused women.
Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic
A free counseling, legal, interpretation, information and referral service for women who are survivors of violence.
The Woman Abuse Council of Toronto
Representatives from key sectors in the community who have come together to develop a coordinated community response to woman abuse in Toronto.
Ontario Women's Justice Network
Explains step by step the legal issues surrounding woman abuse and also provides links to shelters and affiliated services throughout Ontario and other provinces. Includes section on safety plans.
Ontario Women's Directorate
The Ontario government's site focuses on preventing violence against women. One of the links called Help for Assaulted Women lists shelters and sexual assault centres throughout Ontario.
Rosenet - Law and Abused Immigrant Women
Specifically deals with issues abused immigrant or refugee women might face, such as legal rights of a sponsored spouse.
