Every spring, Royal LePage Supreme Realty hosts their annual garage sale through the Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation, to raise money for local women’s shelters, including The Redwood. While we truly wish we could’ve taken part in the garage sale this year, we’re grateful that the realtors were still able to raise $8,000 for women and children living at The Redwood during the COVID-19 pandemic. This group is unstoppable!

Royal LePage Supreme Realty was very creative and found a virtual way to raise funds during its staff “happy hour” zoom meeting. Manny Andrade, owner of the brokerage, and his team invited Marcia Alderson, singer and fellow realtor with Royal LePage Locations North, to sing, lift spirits, and talk about the importance of local women’s shelters during the call. Inspired by Sarah Garner’s decision to host her own fundraising event on Facebook for The Redwood, the virtual hat was passed around and by the end of the meeting the Royal LePage Supreme Realty realtors raised $4,000. Then, Manny committed the brokerage to matching every dollar, for a total of $8,000!

We’re so blown away by this act of kindness! Royal LePage Supreme Realty and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation have been incredible friends to The Redwood for nearly 20 years. We’re thankful that they’ve stuck by our side to help us provide shelter, nutritious meals and basic necessities to women and children fleeing abuse, especially during this very uncertain time. They truly are Redwood heroes!
