Greenrock’s COVID-19 Relief Fund supports women and children to live and thrive free from abuse, homelessness and poverty

The Redwood extends our heartfelt gratitude to our good friends at Greenrock for their most recent gift of $15,000 in support of our “Learning and Playing During COVID-19” initiative.  This generous donation will provide Chromebooks and laptops for children living in the emergency shelter and will kick-start the construction of an indoor playground that children at The Redwood can use year-round.

Since the outbreak of the health emergency, Greenrock made sure The Redwood could continue our critical work of providing assistance to women and children experiencing abuse, homelessness and poverty, with gifts totaling $85,000!

Greenrock’s generosity has supported women and children seeking refuge at The Redwood’s Emergency Shelter; assisted women experiencing abuse in the community by providing funds to train volunteers to launch our 24/7 live chat and text helpline, iDetermine.ca; and helped to secure survivors’ futures with their support of The Redwood’s HVAC Staffing, an initiative to secure employment for women in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning trade.

Greenrock’s leadership, staff and tenants have been generous donors, trusted advisors and kind volunteers to The Redwood since 2018. We have deep admiration for them, not only for their contributions to The Redwood, but for the $3.5 million they have contributed to organizations across the city through their COVID-19 Relief Fund.

To honour the company’s special contribution, The Redwood staff wish to personally thank Greenrock through the video below.
