The Redwood's Privacy Policy

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://www.theredwood.com/
The Redwood envisions a world where women and children live free from abuse and all other
forms of violence and oppression.
The Redwood provides programs and services to support women and children to live and thrive
without abuse, homelessness, and poverty. We work for social change through learning,
collaboration, and advocacy.

What data we collect and why we collect it

During your visit to this website, we may collect non-personally identifiable demographic
information such as age, gender, broad location, and browser type and language settings
through Google Analytics. The Redwood does not sell data. We gather data for the purpose of
analyzing website usage, improving the user experience on this website, and ensuring resources
on this website are inclusive, relevant and useful.

If you choose to use the text and/or chat services on iDetermine.ca (a platform and project by
The Redwood), we will invite you to complete a short, optional survey at the end.  At that time,
we will ask you for the first 3 characters of your postal code.  We use that information to
analyze what regions of the city/province/country our service users come from. The first 3
characters are broad enough that they do not identify your exact location and therefore are not
considered identifying information.

If you choose to sign up for The Redwood’s digital newsletter or donate to The Redwood, we
only collect the name, email, address and phone number you provide in the sign-up form or
donation form. We collect your name and address when you donate to The Redwood for the
purpose of issuing a charitable tax receipt, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency.

The Redwood uses Constant Contact to send out emails and Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge to store
information you provide. From time to time, we may send you emails with updates about The
Redwood’s work and/or fundraising appeals that we think you may find interesting using the
email address that you have provided. We will always give you the option to unsubscribe from
future emails, with any email we send you. You can also contact us to stop receiving mail,
emails and/or phone calls from The Redwood.

Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website
traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of their service. This data is
shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and
personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

Google Signals are session data from sites and apps that Google associates with users who have
signed into their Google accounts, and who have turned on Ads Personalization.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics and
